Are you ready to be a part of a team committed to changing the world?Who You AreAs the Government Compliance Manager - Grants and Contracts, you will oversee Sila s operational compliance with government grant requirements and support the administration of financial assistance awards.
You will collaborate across the company to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance, as well as develop company policies and procedures.
This role will report to the Deputy General Counsel on the Legal team, and will work closely with the Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and other cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities and Duties Work closely with principal investigators, accounting, and other company staff to advise on and help administer complex financial assistance awards (federal grants and cooperative agreements) during the pre-award, post-award, closeout, and auditing stages, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Attend meetings with the Department of Energy, identify requirements and action items and drive resultsCoordinate cross-functionally to develop content, draft and promptly submit periodic reports and submit various documentation via web-based tools, including technical reports and subject invention reports.
Manage compliance across all contracts related to construction, engineering, equipment development, supply chain management, and logistics.

Help create and implement company policies and procedures in accordance with various contract and award terms, cost-sharing provisions, and proprietary information provisions, including protecting company intellectual property rights by marking documents appropriately.
Draft and deploy company-wide trainings of same.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements 8
years of relevant grant administration experience, preferably at a technology company (start-up or highly-technical environment a plus)Experience in engaging with federal Contracting Officers and Program ManagersExperience in mitigating risks, tracking Capital Equipment and negotiating property disposition under a federal Financial Assistance AwardExperience in creating and deploying company-wide compliance trainingsUnderstanding of insurance coverages and general company risk management in both private and public contextsFundamental knowledge of financial assistance and contracting types and deep understanding of purchasing and supply chain procedures in the context of Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering, with experience in government procurement contracting and government flow down termsExperience in assisting with the preparation of documentation required for financial assistance awards (experience with awards from the US Department of Energy is a plus)Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certification through NCMA a plusThe ideal candidate should enjoy working cross-functionally with a variety of people and teams, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, adapt well to changing priorities, employ critical thinking in daily tasks, and be a self-starterExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail; demonstrated proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office (Word & Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Asana and government web-based tools including iEdisonPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsMove long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time.
The starting base pay for this role is between $135,000 and $171,000 at the time of posting.
The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills.
Base pay is only one part of Sila s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses.
The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
