Job Description:
Provides strategic and tactical leadership to identify the value of Abbott Diabetes Care products and services by providing health economic and reimbursement support for payers
This may include health economic studies, health economic data analysis, outcomes research and reimbursement analysis and strategy (coverage, coding, and payment)
Facilitates work of the Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) professional team as the group manages hundreds of contracts, thousands of invoices, and a multimillion dollar budget
Monitors, track, and reports contract and payment status against time-frame and funding & Knowledge of health economics and outcomes research, reimbursement, coverage and payment mechanisms in the US and globally is highly desirable & Creative ability to develop innovative programs and to develop novel methodologies for economic analyses applied to the devices industry
Accomplished with extensive analysis of clinical, epidemiological, health economic and outcomes data to support clinical, market access, health policy and publication strategy initiatives. Knowledgeable about product development process (R&D) as well as commercialization & Understanding the principals and practical application of HEOR analyses, HTA, value based pricing and product access, Experience with building global/ regional dossiers, experience in leading cross-functional teams and experience in gaining payer coverage, coding and payment decisions and developing payer coverage policies is preferred with Thorough understanding of US payer policy procedures and requirements, and of international health care systems and reimbursement desirable
Experience working with hospital administrators/economic buyers at all levels, and health plan, managed care and/or physician group payers skilled in clinical epidemiology and outcomes to design study proposals, protocols, reports and publications with Knowledge of design and ability to conduct systematic literature reviews, and should have retrospective and prospective research experience
Must be able to influence many levels of the organization and a variety of different groups including market access, regulatory, sales, legal, clinical, medical affairs and project management, and be able to demonstrate strong teamwork skills and able to develop SOW and work with purchasing to establish POs, and have an understanding of budgeting and profit and loss statements
Ability to make effective decisions independently while working in a matrix environment, be a decisive and quick thinker who is able to deal with abstract concepts and handle ambiguity well, is innovative and able to create opportunities that impact the business & Excellent communication skills required (written and verbal). Must be able to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.

Managing in-process third party vendor confidentiality agreements and contracts as well as associated documentation
Tracking project status, time-frames, and financials

Training new scientists and project managers
Maintaining department adherence to company business, finance, and compliance policies and procedures & Manages/directs the activities and people associated with small to large scale projects with a focus on primarily non-IT business disciplines. 3
