You will serve as the environmental program manager and coordinator/senior civilian subject matter expert in charge of the environmental compliance and support programs and the complete Environmental Stewardship program at Coast Guard Island, Bay Area Housing sites and at the former Communication Area Master Station Pacific sites. Ensures all Base and Tenant Commands' operations precisely and proactively comply with applicable environmental laws, statutes, regulations, Executive orders, and department and agency policy and program directives; protect the natural, cultural, and human environment; and contribute to a safe and healthful workplace.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Serving as the environmental program manager and coordinator/senior civilian subject matter expert in charge of an environmental compliance and support program; ensuring operations comply with applicable environmental laws, statutes, regulations, Executive orders, and department and agency policy and program directives; protecting the natural, cultural, and human environment.Serving as the technical expert for Base Alameda on environmental issues; advising top management, supervisors, staff and operating officials on matters concerning environmental compliance, sustainability, planning and restoration/environmental liabilities programs.Developing and managing Service Contracts, acting as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), for material handling, waste disposal, and all other environmental areas; reviewing contracts developed by others for compliance with environmental regulations; and developing, reviewing and approving scopes of work to correct/improve facility conditions and operational setups related to environmental compliance issues.Managing program resources, developing budget requests and supporting documentation and justification for program resource requirements.Training and educating personnel throughout Base Alameda on regulation requirements, environmental protection matters, and environmental program goals and objectives.Establishing a quality assurance program to include internal audits and pollution surveys to ensure Base Alameda's compliance with environmental laws and regulations.Identifying the need for, and directing, the development, improvement, or updating/changing of local environmental program guidance documents such as instructions, notices, policies, and practices.Developing and maintaining a program of environmental metrics to monitor and measure operations.Assessing reports of environmental regulatory agencies auditing Base Alameda program sites, establishing commensurate corrective action plans, and monitoring and tracking required corrective actions.Developing technical reports and position papers on environmental issues and concerns.Obtaining and maintaining environmental program permits. You qualify for the GS-12 grade if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level performing duties such as:
Managing or assisting in the management of an environmental compliance and support programServing as a technical expert on environmental issues, such as environmental compliance, sustainability, planning and restoration/environmental liabilities programsActing as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for environmental areas; training and educating personnel on environmental protection matters; establishing or assisting in establishing an environmental quality assurance programDeveloping or assisting in developing corrective action plans in response outside environmental regulatory findingsMonitoring and tracking required corrective actions;Developing technical reports and position papers on environmental issues and concernsObtaining and maintaining environmental program permitsServing as an organization's representative regarding environmental program and protection matters.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
