This role serves as the senior Educational Specialist in a Coast Guard Child Development Center (CDC). You will perform a variety of daily operational administrative and child development related duties in support of the center and the Director.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:
Assisting in the operation of a developmental program that impacts the growth and development of children from infancy to school age. Preparing a variety of reports. Preparing Non-Appropriated Fund employees' payroll and maintaining records of leave and absences. Monitoring CDC food program. Monitoring and maintaining the health history records and physician reports for all children and staff, including volunteers. Observing and reporting significant individual and group behaviors of children to the director and parents. Attends parent-teacher meetings as needed. Substituting in classrooms in the absence of a lead teacher. Providing on-the-job training and orientation for all new caregivers. Monitoring caregivers to ensure established policies and procedures are followed. Assisting the director by distributing and balancing work assignments of lower graded caregivers. Basic Requirements:
1. Degree:
that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.OR2. Combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.Additional Requirements:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 is required; OR 1 year of graduate-level education; OR superior academic achievement (S.A.A.) S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B+ or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. 3. Election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor societySpecialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples include:
Working in group child care or other work that demonstrated the ability to assist in the operation of a child care center; training child care employees; assisting with the development and implementation of child development programs; teaching age appropriate curriculum for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
