The employee serves as the initial point of contact to Base Alameda and tenant command personnel regarding engineering issues.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Answering phone calls at base Alameda Facilities Engineering Departments customer service requests this. Reviewing and analyzing the integrity of all data inputs. Providing information to customers as appropriate to provide services in an appropriate and timely manner. Providing information in written and oral format, informal and formal meetings. Monitoring status of requested services and making modifications to document. At the GS-07 level:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience include:
Gather information from personnel requesting services, record information on the engineering work request form using sure asset management (SAM). Accurately and completely enter data into multiple databases including but not limited to web TA Oracle and SAM. Responsible for the maintenance of all work history records, personnel time and attendance records within Facilities Engineering Department. Upon request prepare and provide various database reports and supporting documents to facilities Engineering Department Management. Provide training and advise customers, coworkers and staff on procedures and policies governing work orders, SAM. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
