Aviation Safety Assistant (Office Automation)
Operates as an Aviation Safety Assistant in a Flight Standards field office. Provides administrative and semi-technical related support to the supervisor, or manager, Aviation Safety Inspectors, and Administrative Officer by utilizing advanced automation system tools relevant in the Safety Assurance System environment which includes, but is not limited to obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and administrative files. To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG-6 or FV-D (FG-5/6) grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include:
performing a variety of clerical work such as preparing reports; assisting in interpreting and implementing newly modified agency directives and determining action needed; researching, writing and typing technical and non-technical correspondence and reports; instructing personnel on administrative policies and procedures; researching technical data; interpreting directives; examining documents for accuracy and completeness; entering and retrieving information from a variety of automated systems; and explaining administrative requirements and processes to customers with minimal supervision and/or guidance.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Please ensure you answer all questions and follow all instructions carefully.
