The selectee serves as a Purchasing Agent at Procurement & Contracting (P&C) Department of Base Alameda, providing support to Base Alameda and all area of responsibility (AOR) field units, and adhere to Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for the acquisition of supplies and services and construction include the following (not an all-inclusive list):
generic administrative supplies and office equipment; computer, electronics and telecommunications equipment; technical and maintenance services; engineering hardware and support services; medical services and equipment; recreational equipment; construction equipment. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Reviewing procurement request to determine adequacy of purchase description and Independent Government Estimate (IGE). Reviewing requirements to determine most suitable, efficient and economical buying method. Preparing award document and making purchases using the government credit card. Monitoring contract to final delivery and payments are completed in the contract file is closed and retired. Negotiating and recommending award of bilateral purchase orders for professional study. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
