This position is responsible for procuring supplies and services to support the mission of the CG. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:
Reviewing Purchase Requests (PRs) and determining that proper specifications or purchase descriptions are included in solicitation document. Evaluating quote, bids, and proposals for accomplice with perform Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable clauses. Performing price analysis to determine price reasonableness. Coordinating contracting activities with other government agencies. Drafting finals contract to include special in standard clauses. All applicants must meet the following basic education requirement:
a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field:
OR at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.In addition to the basic education requirement, the following additional specialized experience and/or education is required. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Applicants for the GS-9 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level reviewing contracting or procurement actions to determine that proper specifications/purchase descriptions are included in solicitation documents; and evaluating bids or proposals for compliance with specifications/purchase descriptions and applicable clauses;OR 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or masters or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D. To qualify for GS-1102 positions on the basis of graduate education, graduate education in one or a combination of the following fields is required:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
