Applicants must meet one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-11 grade level for consideration for the GS-12 grade level. (Please ensure your experience is highlighted in your resume.) For the GS-12 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-11 level) that demonstrates:
providing injury and illness prevention; planning and evaluating; risk management; safety education and promotion; injury and illness analysis/ investigation; reporting and recommending safety and occupational health programs or policies to higher level officials; interpreting and applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, policies, procedures or standards; evaluating existing safety programs or inspecting workplaces to determine possible hazards; applying safety and occupational health knowledge to reduce or control workplace hazards; training individuals on safe practices. (Please ensure your experience is highlighted in your resume.) All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
