As a Supervisory Security Specialist in the Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center Pacific (MIFC-PAC), you will serve as the Chief of the Fleet Area Special Security Office (FASSO) managing military and civilian Security Specialists, Intelligence Specialists and Information Systems Technicians both in Alameda, CA and a satellite office in Honolulu, HI and will be responsible for sensitive compartmented information facilities throughout US Coast Guard Pacific Area (PACAREA). Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
Managing the oversight and maintenance of all physical accreditation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF). Supervising the operation of the Fleet Area Special Security Office personnel and administering the SCI security program to include SCI security oversight to S/SCIFs and T/SCIFs under the organizations security cognizance. Implementing SCI physical security policy as delineated by the DNI and in accordance with Coast Guard standards. Ensuring all information systems are installed in compliance with national policy and properly accredited. Managing personnel security clearances for all SCI assigned personnel, as well as conducting routine shipboard inspections, preparation and submission of associated documentation for physical accreditation of new SCIF spaces. You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level performing duties such as:
Identifying opportunities for innovation and proposes improvements to enhance the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of security processes, procedures and policy. Ensuring all S/SCIFs are operating and in compliance with accreditation approvals. Reviewing of governing directives, analysis and making determinations of appropriate courses of action. Recommending, writing and implementing command level directives, policies and instructions on all matters that are the responsibility of the Fleet Area Special Security Office (FASSO). Providing supervision, technical expertise, support, inspections and administration for personnel, broad security policies and regulations, etc. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to the line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
