The selectee will serve as the supervisor Contract Specialist for the assigned base responsible for all aspects of the contracting transactions for initiation to recommendation of award to procure items or services. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
Providing guidance in the development of the statement of work and data requirements. Determining the type of contract best suited to the requirement, developing special clauses, terms and conditions applicable to the solicitation. Monitoring contract performances and negotiation of necessary contracts modifications to ensure satisfactory progress and completion of contract activities. Serving as first level supervisor for a procurement & contracting staff consisting of a mix of GS Contract Specialist of (14) fourteen personnel, which includes, four GS-7 through GS-9 Purchasing Agents (1105 series), and 10 (ten) equivalent military Storekeepers (SK's) at E4 to E7 ranks. Determining appropriate termination action such as issuing notices of termination for formal termination proceedings, or prevailing upon the contractor to cancel unfilled portion of contract without charges. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
A. 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field; OR B. At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. In addition to meeting the basic requirements in paragraph A or B, above:

Applicants who are qualifying based on experience must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 grade level (in the Federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position. Examples of specialized experience include:
Providing guidance in the development of the statement of work and data requirements. Determining the types of contracts best suited to the requirements, developing special clauses, terms and conditions applicable to the solicitation. Monitoring contract performances and negotiation of necessary contracts modifications to ensure satisfactory progress and completion of contract activities. Serving as first level supervisor for a procurement & contracting staff consisting of a mix of GS Contract Specialist of (14) fourteen personnel Purchasing Agents (1105 series) and 10 (ten) Storekeepers (SK's). OR 3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR A combination of successfully completed post-Bachelors education and experience. Exceptions:
Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. Employees who occupy GS-1102 positions at grades 5 through 12 will be considered to meet the basic requirements for other GS-1102 positions up to and including those classified at GS-12. This includes positions at other agencies and promotions up through grade 12. However, employees must meet specialized experience requirements when seeking another position. NOTE:
The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) does not grant Academic degrees; therefore courses completed at the DAU are not creditable towards meeting the 24 semester hour requirement, in the fields identified above, unless the coursework has been evaluated by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and appears on a college or university transcript. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
