The role of this position is to conduct searches for required information, reconstructing records for complex supply transactions, and providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment and parts.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Initiating, preparing, editing and processing requisitions to stock. Conducting regular, physical inventories of material stocked. Operating computer terminals for record-keeping, data input and corrections and shipping coordination. Overseeing stock maintenance, conducting physical inventories, receiving and screening documents/lists for receipt verification; initiating, preparing, editing and processing requisitions to stock; searching catalogs. Performing all facets of inventory control. Operating a Financial Management Information System to produce and disseminate information. You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level performing duties such as:
Procuring items and supplies; conducting inventories; coordinating vendors and source of supply issues and using computers to manage supply transactions and prepare correspondences. Coordinating the procurement of specialized or unique items and supplies; preparing inventory procedures, conducting inventories and investigating the cause of inventory discrepancies. Recommending improvements to supplies/inventory operating procedures; and using computers to manage complex supply transactions. Coordinating vendors and sources of supply; storing, distributing and shipping materials and supplies. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
