Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-11

This position manages logistics functions in support of the Comptroller services located at Base Alameda; Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Serving as the Logistics Division Officer including oversight and management of all logistics services for which the Base is responsible:
shipping and receiving, management of government property, management of government owned and leased vehicles, mail services, and port services for Cutters (home ported and visiting). Providing direction to military and civilian personnel assigned to the division and coordination of various activities for which they are responsible. Evaluating, analyzing and modifying existing methods, procedures, policies, and reporting requirements to improve efficiency and customer service. Serving as the primary property officer for the unit. Managing shipping, receiving and warehousing operations, for the base and tenant units, including personnel supervising and compliance with regulatory procedures concerning hazardous materials, transportation of material, and operation and maintenance of weight handling equipment. Planning, directing, coordinating, reviewing, and evaluating Base Motor Fleet programs. Arranging shore support services for ships moored, including hotel services. Providing technical and administrative supervision. AT THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include:
Managing logistics services such as:
shipping and receiving, property, port services, vehicle management, and mail services; revising integrated logistics support management documents; evaluating integrated logistic support programs; and performing supervisory duties. OR at least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level:
(A) a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR (B) 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
