In this position, you will serve as a Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) providing advice and oversight for PACAREA and subordinate commands Foreign Disclosure policies and procedures. This scope of foreign disclosure subject matters includes National Disclosure Policy, information sharing with foreign governments and the information security program. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
Serving as a Foreign Disclosure Officer (FOO) for MIFC PAC and PACAREA staff to process requests for release of USCG information to foreign governments and state, local, and tribal law enforcement (LE) organizations. Investigating, designing and implementing command-specific information-sharing policies, practices, & procedures to streamline production of intelligence products releasable to U.S. state, local, tribal and foreign partners. Preparing and providing briefings and information on PACAREA's Foreign Disclosure program, procedures and other essential matters concerning disclosure of information to foreign governments. Working as PACAREA Intelligence Division Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) representative to coordinate requirements, processes and procedures with CGHQ and other agencies' FOIA representatives to process FOIA requests. Maintaining liaison with personnel in other intelligence agencies, laboratories, operational forces and allied foreign governments to discuss production requirements and provide information. You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service performing duties such as:
Serving as a technical foreign disclosure authority to answer all foreign disclosure matters; ensuring all appropriate laws, regulations and directives are being applied in accordance with the agency's Foreign Disclosure program. Implementing and maintaining data bases for all aspects of operations required to process all source material and the production of technical or operational intelligence. Identifying intelligence processes, specifics collection requirements to fill gaps and develops analytical tools and methodologies to cope with the gaps; serving as a collection management representative. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
