Vehicle Description Original from factory 1978 Fiat spider 1800.
No altered body or customized parts.
I'm the second owner and have done a small amount of restoration work.
This is just replacing worn parts - Seat Vinyl on both passenger and driver's seat- Replaced carpet with new.
Replaced door seals and rear vision mirror.
All service records for work carried out since my ownership:
- Engine and suspension.
Timing belt - Thermostat - hoses - radiator - Head rebuilt - All lubes replaced drained and renewed- new battery - some fuel lines in engine compartment - tail pipe upgraded with Italian exhaust section and tail pipe.
Upper and lower arms - springs all round - shocks all round - tie bars front end - New spare tire- The vehicle is 44 years old and original - expect some paint chips and small dents- Only rust is in the bottom front corners of each door and would be rated medium to poor condition.
Small dent on the passenger side wing.
Dashboard crack leading from air vent.
minimal.
Has original as delivered factory Fiat radio- speakers are not.
Passenger door lock functions when it wants to from the exterior.
All glass windows are original - Seat belts sticky but work.
All interior knobs - levers - ash trays hand brake are all original and function.
Smog Jan 2022 and is bi-yearly so no smog required until Jan 2024.
Passed.
Drives well but someone with a lot more knowledge than myself could fine tune the suspension.
Brakes are good - steering is good.
I believe I have the original fake wire wheel hub caps.
The car has the original Fiat Black shadow chrome hub caps and not original trim rings.
Soft top in good condition and soft top frame functions well.
Overall if you are after pretty much original 1978 Fiat 124 1800 Spider this will be ideal for tinkering or full restoration.
I enjoyed the experience, but time move on.
